Elma Mae Harmon

November 29, 1960 - April 3, 2024

Elma Mae Harmon, 63, of Bassett, Virginia formerly of Willis, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her residence. She was born on November 29, 1960, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Coy Arnold Harmon and Frances Lottie Sutphin Harmon.

Elma was a retired LPN. She was a woman of great faith. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, son, and daughter-in-law, particularly on outings to the beach. She cherished animals, from kittens to goats, and made sure they had all that they needed. In her spare moments, she indulged in watching classic horror films and listening to music of all genres. She enjoyed celebrating life with her friend since 10th grade, Gail; they loved shopping, eating out, and losing track of time by telling stories and sharing future goals, such as retirement, and harassing their sons.

Elma is survived by her son, Coy Lee Beasley (Joy); her two grandchildren, Evelyn Beasley and Draken Beasley; her lifelong friend, Gail Slusher Addison; her brother, Melvin Harmon (Karen); and a host of aunts, uncles, and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SPCA of Martinsville and Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, VA 24112.
