Elmer "Shorty" Lenford Willis

Elmer “Shorty” Lenford Willis, 88, of Cascade, VA passed from this life to his heavenly home Monday, January 01, 2024. He was born in Floyd County, VA on June 3, 1935, to the late Thomas Lee Willis and the late Fannie Young Willis.

Elmer was a member of the West Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church and he retired from Dan River Mills after 46 years of service. Elmer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Smith Willis; daughter, Diane Moore (Carl); son Johnny Willis (Rebecca) and foster son, Carl Kaltofen (Sandy); grandchildren, Joshua Young Willis, Glen Allen Moore (Jenn), Lori Ann Moore, and Zachary McDaniel (Natalia); great-grandsons, Chase Allen Moore, and Carter Alexander Moore; sisters, Nelda Harris, and Betty Bray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Glenda “Judy” Myers, Shirley Robinson, and Jean Hundley, and brother, Thomas Willis.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel. The interment will be at Danville Memorial Gardens.
