Elvis D. Goodwin, Sr., 51, of Blacksburg, Va., and formerly of Poor Mountain Road in Salem, Va., went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with loved ones gone before him on Saturday, February 28, 2026.Elvis was born on Tuesday, October 1, 1974, in Roanoke, Va., to William “Billy” Goodwin and Penny Sue Brown Goodwin. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandmother; and brother, Jeffrey Goodwin.Elvis loved his family deeply. He was proud grandaddy, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Along with his grandkids, his beloved wife and kids were the apple of his eye. Elvis was faithful to his calling to preach about his Lord and was proud to call himself a child of God. He was an artist in his spare time, producing many beautiful paintings, drawings, and handmade fishing flies with dedication and talent. Elvis touched those around him in so many ways, and he will be dearly missed, most of all by his beloved family.Left to cherish Elvis’s memory are his beloved wife of 23 years, Crystal E. Goodwin; children, Elvis Goodwin, Jr. (Megan), James “Wyatt” Goodwin, and Grace Goodwin; parents, William “Billy” and Penny Sue Brown Goodwin; several siblings, a special adopted brother, James Elston; grandchildren, Paisley Goodwin Yopp, Elvis Goodwin, III, and Deven Goodwin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear church family and pastor friends; his beloved four legged grandchildren, “Lala”, “Threeadore”, and “Maverick”; and numerous best friends.A service will be held to honor Elvis’s life at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Senneca Baptist Church, 8572 Roanoke Road in Elliston, Va. A visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until the hour of the service. Pastor John Collins will officiate.
