Emily Logan Oliver

January 4, 1999 - July 9, 2025

Emily Logan Oliver, 26, of Salem, Virginia, was born on January 4, 1999, to parents, Betsy Crowe and Jeff Oliver. She passed away in the critical care unit of VCU in Richmond, Va., on July 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Wayne Oliver and Robert Hawley; and great-grandparents, Thomas Early Crowe and Mary Edith Crowe, Versey King and Lillian King.

Emily was loved by many, but by none more than her mom to whom she will forever be her whole world. Emily had a kind soul and a huge heart. She loved her family and friends deeply. Emily loved her two fur babies, Sylvester and Piper more than life itself. Her father bought her a pair of pink and white Nike shoes to wear home from the hospital because he was sure she needed them. Emily especially enjoyed trips to Chick Fil A with her grandma. When the cashier would ask Grandma to move up in the line, Grandma would tell them she would move up when she wanted to. Emily would always laugh when she would talk about their Chick-fil-A outings. She enjoyed late-night conversations with her Mimi and said they meant the world to her. Emily had her Granddaddy wrapped around her finger before she was even born and would be quick to say, “I’m his favorite!” Those who loved our dear Emily will live with part of our heart and soul missing now that she is gone. She will be forever loved and missed by those who knew her.

Those remaining to cherish Emily’s memory are her mother, Betsy Crowe; father, Jeff Oliver (Lora); brother, Zachery Oliver (Madison); sister, Michaela Johnson; niece, Lillie Oliver; nephew, Daniel Blankenship, grandmother, Darlene Hawley; grandparents, Sherry and Clifford Crowe; aunt, Diana Testerman (Darrel); uncle, Glenn Crowe (Soo); cousins, Christopher Stuart, Theodore Crowe (Marisa Leinenweaver) and Seth Crowe; a large extended family of great aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as two special friends, Selena & Emilia.

The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
