Erizzell Alton Martin
Erizzell Alton Martin was born August 30, 1947, and departed this life August 11, 2023.He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Inez Cook Martin. Erizzell was a member of Mt. Zion Holiness Church in Martinsville and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in September of 1969, after serving in the Vietnam War. Upon completing his military assignments, he attended Virginia Union University in Richmond and New York School of Mechanical Dentistry where he obtained a degree in Dental Technology. Erizzell served as a dental technician with Shelton Laboratories for 26 years in the states of North Carolina, Texas, Connecticut, and Virginia.Upon retiring from the dental field, Erizzell returned to Martinsville where he was well known as a highly skilled builder and remodeler.He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Alice Wyatt Martin, four children: Michael Martin (Carla) of Indiana, Juanita Walker- devoted (Gary) of Roanoke, Neil Wyatt- devoted (LeoMary) of Richmond and Sherririta Turner-devoted of New Haven, Connecticut. He is also survived by sisters Nellie Lois Martin-Curry and Arnita Martin of Kernersville North Carolina; brother, Kenneth Wayne Martin of Martinsville; eight grandchildren; One aunt Maxine Cooke of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law, one niece Nichol, two nephews Gary and Antoine, and a host of cousins (2 devoted Desi Martin and Garnel Martin) and friends (one lifelong devoted-Charlie Inge).There will not be a viewing. A memorial service is set for Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road Martinsville, Virginia, 24112Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
