Erma Brummett Turrubiarte

January 13, 1965 - January 18, 2025

On January 18th, 2025, Erma Mae Brummett Turrubiarte of Bassett, Virginia left her earthly home to rejoin her family in heaven. Erma was born January 13th, 1965, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late George and Ethel Brummett. In addition to her parents waiting at heaven's gates, she was welcomed by her son, Dusty Howell, sisters, Janice Brummett and Barbara Brummett and her beloved dog Saffy. Erma loved her family very much and thought about the world of them. She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Turrubiarte of the home. Her son, Jason Howell (Beth), sister, Deborah Brummett, grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb, Josh and Joseph Howell, great-grandson, Noah, nephews, Alan Brummett (Brandi), Austin Mason, niece, Kayla Brummett (Christopher), great nephew, Brantley Brummett, and great niece, Ryleigh Brummett. She is also survived by her in laws of Mexico and numerous other family members and friends.

Erma was always ready for an adventure whether it was going to the park in the middle of the night or going to hunt Pokémon or playing video games. She was always willing to hang out with family and friends. She loved visiting family in Mexico with her husband Jose. She also loved going out to eat with him.

She was always caring and would help how she could. She worked as a caregiver briefly before her mother fell ill. She helped care for her mother and sister. Soon after her mother's passing, she fell ill. She beat breast cancer's ass and was able to ring the bell that she was finally in remission! Erma was sick with multiple health issues throughout the last several years. After beating cancer, she started to suffer with her heart and lungs. She finally won her last battle and is no longer in pain or suffering anymore.

We already miss you so very much, but we know you have finally made it to your heavenly home. Where you were welcomed by all our loved ones gone on before you. What a rejoicing in heaven it must be! Please give everyone up in heaven hugs and kisses for us. Watch over us all until we are reunited in our heavenly home.

My angel up in heaven

My angel up in heaven,

I wanted you to know,

I feel you watching over me,

everywhere I go.

I wish you were with me,

but that can never be,

memories of you in my heart,

that only I can see.

My angel up in heaven,

I hope you understand,

that I would give anything,

if I could hold your hand.

I'd hold you oh so tightly,

and never let you go,

and all the love inside of me,

to you I would show.

My angel up in heaven,

for now, we are apart,

you'll always live inside of me,

deep within my heart.
