Eugene Richard Griffith

Eugene Richard Griffith, 96, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. Eugene was born in Danville, VA on February 3, 1929 to the late Agnus Irene Harris Griffith and the late Alonza William Griffith. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Iris Mae Toler Griffith.

Eugene was of the Christian Faith. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years for Dan River Mills, previous to his retirement.

Eugene is survived by two sisters; Marie Smith and husband Larry of China Grove, NC, and Malindy Lou Debause of Portsmouth, VA, as well as a special cousin; Clarence Blains.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Eugene was predeceased by six brothers; Dennis, Richard Eugene, Dexter, Franklin, Jack, and James Patrick Griffith; and two sisters; Vivian Neal Mathews and Martha Larene Blake.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 3:00pm, at Schoolfield Cemetery, Danville, VA.
