Eunice Allene Powers Witt

Eunice Allene Powers Witt, 91 of Bedford passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at her residence. She was born October 19, 1931 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Andrew Edward Powers and Annie Smith Powers. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Witt; two daughters, Debra Pugh & Jane Carol Witt; two brothers, Reginald & Oswald Powers as well as three grandchildren, Walker Daniel Rice, III, Daniel Chambers & Vasmine Lawson.

She was a mother first and also co-owner of Witt's Construction Company.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kayrine Knight (Alton), Dona Rice (Danny), Janet Cutshaw (David); seven sons, Mike Witt, Tommy Witt (Susie), Dickie Witt (Debbie), John Witt (Barbara), Chuckie Witt (Lynn), Jeff Witt, Pete Witt (Mary); her sister, Betty Watson as well as twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 with Rev Austin Hull officiating. The family will receive friend from 5 until 7 PM on Monday evening at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
