Evelyn Bryant Vernon

Evelyn Bryant Vernon, age 96, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Central Continuing Care, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Vernon was born January 6, 1927, in Surry County to the late Troy Bryant and the late Alphia Simmons Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Vernon; sisters, Agness Clark, Erma Paschal, Rachel Hodges and a brother, Lemuel Bryant. Mrs. Vernon was a seamstress who retired from Perry Manufacturing and attended Salem Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Faye Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Deane Vernon; grandchildren, Lewis Moore, Brandon Moore, Ginger Ramey, Sharon Branch, Charlie Vernon; great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Hess, Ethan Ramey, Lauren Branch, Seth Ramey, Casydie Vernon, special great-grandchild, Coby McCormick. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the cemetery of Salem Baptist Church. Dr. Darrell Tate will be conducting the service.
