Everlene Craig Helms 85, of Bassett passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Sovah of Martinsville. Born in Patrick Co, on April 15, 1937, the daughter of the late John Edd Craig and the late Ila Rorrer Craig, she was also preceded in death by her husband William D. Helms and daughter Linda Jean Jackson, sister Elaine C. Stout and brother Douglas “Pete” Craig and nephew Kirk Craig. Everlene was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Everlene is survived by brother Lonnie E. Craig and nieces and nephews, Freddie Payne, Lisa Joyce, Bill Stout, Pam Pilch. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Shady Rest Cemetery in Basset with Rev Rick Anderson officiating.
