Floyd Lee "Little Man" McCormick of Gladstone, Virginia

Floyd Lee “Little Man” McCormick, Sr., 82, of Gladstone passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at his sons’ residence. He was the husband of the late Joyce Ferguson McCormick.

Born in Gladstone on August 28, 1940, he was the son of the late Walker W. McCormick and Effie Jamerson McCormick. He attended Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church and enjoyed tinkering on vehicles and lawn mowers. He was a knot saw operator with Burrus Land and Lumber Company.

He is survived by three sons, Floyd Lee McCormick, Jr. of Buena Vista, James Wilson “J.W.” McCormick and wife, Gwyn of Spout Spring, and Richard Keith McCormick and wife, Diane of Gladstone; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Robertson of Wingina.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Duvall McCormick, and Alton McCormick; and four sisters, Vera McCormick, Virginia Lee Woody, Helen Gunter, and Louise Honaker.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Childress and Pastor Richard K. McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in McCormick Family Cemetery, Gladstone, Va.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm, Wednesday, May 3 at Robinson Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of J.W. and Gwyn McCormick.
