Forrest Plecker
Forrest Clayton “Tate” Plecker, age 94, of 892 Douthat State Park Road, Millboro, Virginia died on Friday, August 29, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Plecker was born on May 25, 1931 in Bath County to the late Forest Henry Plecker and Clara Eskleen Peery Plecker. He served in the United States Air Force, and built his life in Bath County. He began his construction career with Plecker Brothers, Inc., working there from 1956 to 1972, then created F. Clayton Plecker & Sons, Inc. in 1972, from which he retired. He was active in the Bath County community as a longstanding member of Woodland Union Church and beef cattle producer. His passion was hunting and farming. He also loved baseball and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jacqueline “Jackie” Stephenson Plecker; a sister, Clara Lucille Rhea; and two brothers, Peery Lee Plecker and Milton Noel “Zeke” Plecker.
He is survived by his children, Lynn Ellen Black (Tommy), Marty Plecker (Susan), Craig Plecker (Janet), and Ricky Plecker (Shelly), all of Millboro; a brother, Thomas “Tom” Plecker, Sr. (Louise) of Millboro; 11 grandchildren, Kathie Sidner, Shannan Waldeck, Tiffany Williford, Christopher Plecker, Katie Mercer, Erin Roberts, Monica Plecker, Meagan Walkley, Travis Plecker, Emily Fry, and Ryan Plecker; 20 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Woodland Union Church, Millboro with Pastor David George officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Union Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marty Plecker, Craig Plecker, Ricky Plecker, Christopher Plecker, Ryan Plecker, Travis Plecker, Harvey Plecker, and Jimbo Tennant. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Plecker, Sam Hepler, Mike Shanks, Greg Pritt, Mark Carlin, Tom Fowler, Davy Hodge, Dante Villa, and great grandsons. There will be two times of visitation. The family would like to visit with friends on Monday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
