Frances Egidio

Ms. Leila Frances Prescott Egidio, age 93, of Mount Airy, passed away on Wednesday morning April 19, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. She was born February 26, 1930, in Orange County, FL to the late Ned Alexander Prescott and Epsie Parrish Prescott. Ms. Egidio was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who was loved by so many. Frances had a beautiful smile that would light up the room. She retired from New Brittan Hospital after many years of dedicated service. Frances was a member of her beloved church in Wethersfield, CT, New Life Christian Fellowship. Left to cherish her memory are 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Susan Egidio, Betty Ann Egidio, and Jamie and Howard Romano; a son, James Egidio, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; dear nieces, Karen Fredin and Aleena Davenport and several nieces and nephews; special friends, Kathy DeJesus and Lucille Scata. In addition to her parents, Ms. Egidio was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Muchler; son, John Griffin; 4 sisters, Betty Prescott Naffziger, Mary Dean Prescott Hull, Julia Nell Prescott Sexton, and Patty Prescott Chodes; and 2 brothers, Ralph Prescott and Billy Prescott. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Daniel’s Crossroads, Elba, AL. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Egidio family.
