Frances "Fran" Anne Felch
Frances Anne Felch, a beloved matriarch and a woman of immense grace and humor, peacefully departed this world at the age of 97 on October 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her cherished children: Anne Park, Gail Lawson, and Dana Giesen, and her late son, Bruce Felch, who passed in 2006. Frances was the loving wife of Robert I. Felch, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Frances, affectionately known as Frann, embarked on her journey as an only child in Germantown, PA, just outside of Philadelphia. She pursued her passion for journalism and earned an Associates Degree at Vermont Jr College before her marriage to Bob in Philadelphia, PA.
Together with Bob, she shared an adventurous life with the Army, spanning 32 years of travel and relocation across the globe. Their extraordinary journey included the birth of each of their children in different states, with one even born during their stay in Tehran, Iran.
Upon Bob's retirement from the military, they chose Radford as their forever home, drawn by its geographical appeal, demographics, reputation, and Bob's teaching prospects. For five decades, Radford became the backdrop for a life filled with love and family growth.
Frann's legacy is not only one of her constant humor and wit but also her remarkable ability to handle the challenges of military life and create nightly gourmet feasts. She was an accomplished bridge player, known for her expertise in the game.
Frann and Bob exemplified a zest for life, leaving behind a legacy that emphasizes the importance of family, unity, and unending laughter. Their love, joy, and exuberance for life have left an indelible mark on those fortunate to know them.
Frances Felch is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, continuing her legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
