Frances Gibson Barbour

Frances Gibson Barbour, age 93 of Cloverdale, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Frances was born February 11, 1929 in Boones Mill, Virginia and lived in Cloverdale since 1971. She was the daughter of the late Roy Gibson and Myrtle Sink Gibson. Frances was an avid and faithful member of Cave Rock Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Barbour; brother, Junior Gibson; sisters: Virginia Moran and Nancy Moran. Frances is survived by her daughter, Betty West of Cloverdale; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Robert) Lowry, and Rachel Stewart; great-grandchildren: Gabriel Stewart, Aria Stewart, and Oliver Lowry; her brother, Lewis Gibson of Troutville; and her sister, Mary Sparks of Roanoke.

A celebration of Frances’s life will be 2:00pm Friday, January 6 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Reverend Mark Childers officiating. Burial will be at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8pm Thursday.
