Frances Johnson

Frances A. Johnson, age 92, of Verona, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was the wife of the late Ira P. Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 27, 1932 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Kenneth Andrews and Clementine Jackson Andrews. Frances was a member of Verona United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and enjoyed growing both flowers and vegetables. One of Mrs. Johnson's greatest joys was visiting National Parks all over the United States with her son, Daniel.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Stephen P. Johnson of Verona and Daniel S. Johnson of Vernal, UT; three grandchildren, Megan Johnson Kreig of Waynesboro, Matthew Johnson of Waynesboro and Stephen Jacob Johnson of Verona; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald Andrews of Natural Well, Donald Andrews of Chesterfield and Kenneth Andrews of Hopewell; a sister, Ann King of Hot Springs; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Johnson; two sisters; and one brother.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Frank Johnson officiating.
