Frank "Bugs" Kellison
Frank "Bugs" Markwood Kellison Jr., a cherished family man, respected veteran, and beloved community member, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, in Roanoke, VA, at the venerable age of 86. Born on June 2, 1938, in Bath County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Frank Kellison and Dema Wilburn Kellison.
Frank's life was marked by a deep commitment to his country, his family, and his work. He proudly served in the United States Army, where he demonstrated the values of loyalty and service that would define his character throughout his life. After his military service, he continued to embody these principles as a dedicated supervisor at Radford Arsenal, from which he eventually retired.
He was an avid fan of westerns, often found engrossed in the tales of cowboys and the old frontier. Baseball games were treasured pastimes, where he would cheer on his favorite teams with fervor and enthusiasm. Frank also found solace in the company of his loyal dog, which was by his side during his leisurely afternoons spent sitting on his porch, a place where he would reflect and appreciate the beauty of his surroundings.
Frank's home was a hub of love and laughter, where he would regularly visit with his family, sharing stories and creating memories that would last a lifetime. He was a pillar of strength and love for his sons Frankie, Mark (Tammy), and Ricky Havens (Jackie), and his daughter Sherry Mabry. Frank's legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons and love he imparted.
His brothers Jack Kellison (Barbara) and Michael Kellison (Shirley), along with his sister-in-law Anna Sue Kellison, will fondly remember Frank's steadfast presence and the bonds of brotherhood that enriched their lives. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Jean Havens Kellison; his son, Steven Charles Kellison; his brothers, Charles David Kellison and Robert "Foxy" Kellison; and his granddaughter, Lindsey Kellison. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and their memories remained a source of comfort and strength throughout his life.
