Franklin MacArthur "Mac" Harris
Franklin MacArthur “Mac” Harris, 82, of Appomattox passed away on Sunday March 23, 2025, at the home of his fiancée, Tiffany Byrd.
Born on September 20, 1942, in Amherst County, VA, he was the son of the late Tandy Douglas Harris and Anna Louise Ferguson Harris. MacArthur worked for Delta Star for 40 years. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He was a devoted member of Red Oak Baptist Church.
He is survived by his fiancée, Tiffany Byrd; two daughters, Trudy Harris and Wendy Harris Bailey and husband, Phil; five siblings, Pete Harris and wife, Brenda of Appomattox, Clyde Harris and wife, Mary of Madison Heights, Juanita Harris Milstead of Lynchburg, Nellie Martin of Appomattox, and Ernest Harris and wife, Lucy of Appomattox; extended family, Benjamin Byrd and wife, Alice, Reid Chavis, and Melissa Jones; sisters-in-law, Elna Harris and Nancy Harris; brother-in-law, Bruce Hackett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Harris, Mary Ocie Harris, Emily Harris, Ruby Harris Barnes and husband, Charlie, Millie Harris Sieglitz and husband, Heinz, Anna Harris Ferguson and husband, Carl, and Elizabeth Harris Hackett; brothers, William Walker Harris and wife, Minnie, Norman Burge Harris and wife, Helen, Lewis Harris and wife, Marilyn, Keith Harris, and Tandy Harris; and brothers-in-law, Ashby Milstead and Gene Witt Martin.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home.
