Freddie Morton Jones

Freddie Morton Jones, 75, of Axton, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was born in Leaksville, NC on April 18, 1950, to the late Morton (Buck) Jones and Eunice Dillion Jones.

Freddie was a man of Christian faith and was a faithful member of Axton Baptist Church. He graduated from Drewry Mason High School and attended Danville Community College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a volunteer for the Axton Fire Department for many years and was a member of the men’s group, Carpenters for Christ.

Freddie found joy in hard work and helping others. Most of his career he worked as a truck driver and recently retired from West Window Corporation. He loved his family, his church, and his friends. He was a devoted husband, dad, and papa and will be missed by all who loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruby Hundley Jones, son Brian Lawrence (Amber), daughter Amanda Stone (Westley), grandchildren Ethan Lawrence, Emma Lawrence, Grayson Lawrence, Hailey Stone, and Madelyn Stone. Also surviving is Jeremy Hundley, who was like a second son.

A funeral service will be held at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad Street, Martinsville, VA at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Pastor Chris Robertson will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
