Freeda Ann Bailey

Freeda A. Bailey, 92, of the Roanoke Valley, formerly of Boston, Ma., was a true angel and gained her wings on Thursday, July 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 24, 1931, to the late Harry and Jessie Greenough Gray. Freeda worked for the Roanoke County Department of Social Services until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven R. Bailey.

Left to cherish her precious memory include her children, Susan and Scott Bailey; grandchildren, Misty Brown, Christina Crigger, Doug Bailey, Jackie Bailey, and Brian Carner; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Brown, Jasmin Redd, Brianna Bailey, Savannah Bailey, Jaxson Crigger, and Lydia Crigger.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
