Freeman Junior Hodnett

Freeman Hodnett, 61, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026. Freeman was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on January 15, 1965 to the late Emma Louise Brown Hodnett and the late Letcher Lee Hodnett Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Mammie Long Hodnett.

Freeman was of the Christian Faith, and attended Watson Level Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Freeman is survived by a daughter; Rochelle Long; two sons; Jerrell Long and Dontay Thomas; a step son; Elrico Long; a step daughter; Shala Harris (Anthony); four sisters; Prence Anna Craft, Frances Craft (Michael), Dora Harris (Randy), and Emma Hood (Jeff), a brother; Randy Hodnett (Mary); ten grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Freeman was predeceased by three brothers; Carl, Herman, and James Hodnett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00am at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Prence Anna Craft officiating.
