G. Michael Prillaman
January 16, 1954 - January 11, 2023

Michael “Mike” Prillaman, age 68 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 11, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born January 16, 1954 and was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Marjorie Prillaman; and nephew, William Tyler Smith. Surviving are his sister, Susan P. Smith; niece, Anna Sullivan (Josh); great-nephews, Tucker and Ford Sullivan, Max Smith; also surviving is Amy Simmons his longtime girlfriend. Mike graduated from Franklin County High School in 1972 and began working with his dad at Prillaman Pontiac, Olds and Buick. After the sale of Prillaman Pontiac, a new company, Prillaman, Inc. was formed and Mike followed his father to the new company. Mike loved life, his family, friends, as well as spending time riding his motorcycle. Trips made with friends were very meaningful and special. Animals and birds were also an important part of his life. Mike would often sit on his deck and enjoy all the birds surrounding him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklin County SPCA (P.O. Box 2118, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151) or to a charity of choice. Special thanks to Promedica Hospice, especially Tosha and Karen for providing loving care to Mike. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 12 noon Saturday, January 14, 2023 with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
