Garrey Mitchell Poole

Garrey Mitchell Poole, 65, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023. He was born February 10, 1958, in Pearson County, North Carolina, to the late Edward M. Poole and Nannie Gilley Poole.

Garrey was of the Baptist faith and a graduate of Danville Community College, with an Associate’s Degree in Mechanics. He enjoyed cars, NASCAR racing, dirt racing, cats, and spending time at the beach.

He is survived by his daughter Amanda Bryan; sons, Nick Poole (Asia) and Matthew Poole (Katie); sister, Marilyn Cassaday; brother, Marty Poole (Angela); niece, Cindy Clark; nephew, Joey Poole; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday, May 8, 2023, at 11:00 A. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Neil Pressley officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service.
