Garry Anthony Lawson

Garry Anthony Lawson, 57, of Martinsville, battled with AML leukemia for two years before he received his call to go home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born July 20, 1965 in Martinsville, to the late Eva Jean Gwyn Lawson and Harry Herman Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Lawson; sisters, Geraldine Brown and Debra Morris; and brothers, Eugene, Charles. He attended Mercy Crossing Church, and had been employed as a cook. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking, and loved nature. He had a good sense of humor, and was a kind soul who loved people and would give you the shirt off his back. Garry is survived by his wife, Jessica Goldbach Lawson; daughter, Kimberly Lawson Scales; sons, Lakota Lawson and Gabriel Lawson; brothers, Don Gwyn, Wayne Lawson and Mike Gwyn; and granddaughter, Haylee Lawson. The Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 7:00 PM, at Mercy Crossing Church, 1978 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia.
