Gary Bartley

Gary Wayne Bartley, age 68, of Covington, Virginia died Friday, June 30, 2023 at his residence.
He was born January 17, 1955 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Virgil Clarence Bartley and Juanita Ayers Bartley. He was a sheet metal mechanic for Mead Westvaco and an avid UVA sports fan. He loved hunting, fishing, reading, his children, grandchildren and dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Virgil Clarence Bartley, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Fuller Bartley of Covington; a daughter, Alania Lowman and husband, Jason of Clifton Forge; a son, Travis Bartley and wife, Jenn of Pembroke; two sisters, Priscilla Downer and husband, Richard and Lisa Shinault and husband, Donnie both of Covington; a brother, Chuck Bartley and wife, Jean of Covington; six grandchildren, Keely, Kellen, Kiera, Hannah, Elyn, and Sophia; special caregiver, Gary Whitmer; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 12:30PM until the time of service.
