Gene Meadows

Mr. Ray Eugene "Gene" Meadows, age 96, of Covington, died Sunday, November 2, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy Hayslett Meadows to whom he was married to for seventy-two years..
Mr. Meadows was born April 18, 1929 in Ohio, the son of the late Isaac Jacob Meadows and Myrtle May Meadows. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. A resident of this area since 1966, Mr. Meadows was employed as a bricklayer by Stebbins for a number of years before his retirement. Gene was a former member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, woodcarving, reading and loved to watch baseball.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Meadows is survived by five daughters, Rhonda M. Ray of Chesterfield, Teresa M. Lee and husband, Richard of Covington, Laura M. Bradley of Covington, Amy R. Meadows of Covington, Donna M. Sarian and husband, Mark of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren;; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Meadows was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Meadows and Edward Meadows; one sister, Irene "Toots" Knighton; two sons-in-law, Mike Ray and John Bradley; and a great grandson, Carter Wickline.
The family wishes to thank ACG Hospice, especially, Jim Bay, for the care, compassion and kindness that they gave to Mr. Meadows and his family.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 7, 2025, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Meadow's granddaughters, Michaelene R. Crosby, Samantha R. Spicer, Alexandra R. Hicks, Jessica B. Smith, Emily M. Burks and Cassidy B. Lee
The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 11:30 A.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
