Gene Rogers Campbell

Gene Rogers Campbell, 84, of Madison Heights, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Born on December 2, 1940, in Amherst, VA, he was the son of the late Vivian M. Campbell and Esther T. Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vivian Drumond, Dandridge Campbell, and Ray Campbell.

Gene had a deep love for all animals, holding a special place in his heart for cats, dogs, birds, and even chickens. His appreciation for nature extended to his passion for hunting and fishing in his younger years, as well as his love of gardening. Whether exploring the great outdoors or tending to his collections, Gene found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, never missing a race when he could help it.

He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita L. Campbell; his siblings, Melvin Campbell, Ann Irvine, and Gleason Campbell; and his special cousin, Janie Campbell. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold him in their hearts.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, with Pastor Jeffrey Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Amherst Cemetery.
