Geneva Montgomery Mann, born on July 10, 1936, in Drakes Branch, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Lynchburg, Virginia.She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Buddy Lee Montgomery and Avis Jones Montgomery; her devoted husband of 44 years, Lawrence Burton (L.B.) Mann; her brothers, Elisha Montgomery, and Buddy Lee Montgomery Jr.; and her sisters, Elizabeth Montgomery, Alsie Dickerson, and Naomi Hailey.Geneva is survived by her sons, Mike Mann (Cynthia), Gary Mann, and Greg Mann (Teresa); her daughter, Julie Thomas (Lewis); and her sister, Hattie Layne. She was a cherished grandmother to Taylor (Meagan), Ryan, Heather, Brett, Justin, Luke, Rachel (Michael), and Allen (Sayaka), and a beloved great-grandmother to Soren, Henry, Stella, Chesney, Lila, Callie, Talan, and Nolan.Geneva was known for her deep love of family, and she was affectionately "Momma Mann" to all who knew her. A devoted wife to L.B. for 44 years, she found joy in cooking, with her cheeseburgers being a family favorite. Her days were often spent watching her favorite soap operas and game shows, but above all, she loved the Lord. Geneva loved attending St. Stephens Baptist Church in Nelson County.A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, in Lynchburg, Virginia, beginning at 10 a.m. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Norman Ryan, will follow at 11 a.m.The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kim Combs, Summit Health and Rehab, Runk and Pratt at Liberty Ridge, Centra Home Health, and Centra Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Geneva in her final days.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.Whitten Timberlake Chapel is assisting the Mann family during this time of loss.
