George Blair Pauley
George B. Pauley, 77, of Floyd, Virginia, formerly of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Born Saturday, August 21, 1948, in Bland County, Va, to the late Samuel Pauley and Alberta Dillow Brammer.
Known for his thoughtfulness and generosity, George was a kind soul who will be greatly missed.
He retired from General Electric after 34 years of dedicated service. A hardworking and strong-willed individual, George also served in the Navy as a Radio Mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed various hobbies, including fishing and bowling. George particularly cherished occasional travels with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his stepdad, John T. “Lindsey” Brammer, sister, Dorothy Hickson; brother, Paul L. Pauley; nephew, Paul Hickson; nieces, Brittani H. and Shari T; as well as several aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his daughter, Eve Pauley-Kilpatrick (Mark); brothers, Sam Pauley (Becky), James “Jim” Pauley, and Joe Pauley. Special nieces, Debbie Gibson (Larry), and Marie; grandchildren, Owen B. Pauley, Clarissa Blankenship, Georgia and Blake Dutton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special friends, Mark Phillips, Jean Pauley, Carol Ann, and Carolyn O’Connor.
The family will welcome friends for a period of visitation on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 6 – 8 pm at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home located in Salem, Va. The service will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 5 p.m., followed by a private internment for immediate family.
