George Cornlius Moore

George Cornlius Moore, 65, of Ridgeway, Virginia, transitioned to his heavenly home Monday, September 15, 2025. He was born July 5, 1960, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Tine Price Moore and Mattie B Ziegler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Moore, Sidney Moore, and Curtis Moore.

George was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and a 1978 graduate from Drewry Mason High School. He enjoyed bowling, working out, golfing, and eating. He was a huge Cowboy’s fan and was known for being a jokester. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Chantea Moore; sisters, Theressa Gallant of Lakeland, Florida, Brenda Moore of Ridgeway, Virginia, Linda Giles of Ridgeway, Virgina, Elder Mary Moore of Columbus, Ohio, and Lisa M. Davis of Pickerington, Ohio; brothers, Alfred Moore (Linda) of Martinsville, Virginia and James Moore (Mattie) of Columbus, Ohio; aunt, James Hairston of Spencer, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.  The family will also receive friends and family at the home of niece Brenda Moore Barksdale, 111 Carolina Place, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148.
