George Henry Blanks

George Henry Blanks, Jr., 90, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born on November 16, 1934 in Brookneal, he was the son of the late George H. Blanks, Sr. and Laura F. Blanks.

He loved spending time outdoors and was happiest when he was hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. An avid sports enthusiast, he loved watching NASCAR racing and Minnesota Vikings football.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marla W. Blanks; son, George Blanks III; daughter, Michelle Blanks Pauley (Rick); granddaughter, Whitney Page; and great grandchildren, Lily Page and Liam Gibson.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
