George Ray Burgart

George Ray Burgart, 53, of Bassett, Virginia passed away, Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was born November 6, 1971, in Stuart, Virginia to Richard Ray Burgart and the late Jessie Marie Martin Slate.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jorgia Ann Burgart; brother, Andy Edwards; paternal grandparents, Richard Roland Burgart and Esther Mae Murphy Burgart; maternal grandparents, Andy Martin and Gladys Martin.George was a fan of the Washington Commanders, Atlanta Braves, and Dale Jr. In his free time, you could find him watching Nascar, Wrestling, Law and Order, Swamp People, and ball games. George was very personable and had a great personality.In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Sherry Burgart; brothers, Jerone Mabe and Chris Mabe; niece, Grace Mabe; and numerous cousins and aunts.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Rick Randall officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
