George S. Brunn

George S. Brunn, age 81, of Troutville, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

George was born September 12, 1942 in Richmond Hills, New York and lived in Troutville for 34 years. He was the son of the late George J. and Lillian Batton Brunn.

George was a police officer for Nassau County, New York for 22 years. In retirement, he served on the Botetourt Mountain Search and Rescue, enjoyed fixing things (he could fix anything), Dodge cars, his German shepherds, and his cats.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Brunn. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jeanne Schreiner Brunn; son, Keith (Kimberly) Brunn of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and grandson, Nick Brunn (fiancée, Hannah Quinn) of Charlottesville.

A service honoring George’s life will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 28 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
