Geraldine "Jerri" Walker Webster

Geraldine Walker “Jerri” Webster, 95, left us to be with her Lord and Savior on December 17, 2023. A lifelong resident of Roanoke City, Franklin County and recently a resident at Richfield Living, Salem, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents Girlie Mae and Cecil Walker and infant son Jerry Wayne Webster. She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Saunders Webster; daughter, Betty Ann Webster; son Daniel Webster (Sandra); grandsons, Mark Webster (Elizabeth), Gregory Webster; and great-grandchildren Jack, Sam, Nathaniel and Eleanor Webster.

A 1947 graduate of Jefferson HS, marrying Saunders Webster in December 1947.She worked many years as a comptometer operator for Kroger Co. and as an accounting clerk for Mick-or-Mack. Jerri and Saunders built a house and retired to Franklin County spending quiet evenings on the front porch of their new home in the woods. Jerri was a compassionate woman of strong faith whose life was filled with the love of family and friends and was a longtime member of Hollins Road Baptist Church, Roanoke then Fairmont Baptist Church, Boones Mill. Jerri lived her faith serving others

Throughout her life Jerri loved family reunions and visiting cousins and friends. Jerri delighted in spending time with and especially cooking for her grand and great-grandchildren, who especially loved Granny's famous devilled eggs.

Funeral services will be conducted at Fairmont Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
