Gertrude "Trudy" Osborne Owen

Gertrude (Trudy) Osborne Owen, 96 of Franklin Ohio, formally of Chatham, Virginia, gained her crown on September 25th, 2025. Trudy was born on October 8th, 1928, In Climax, Virginia, to the late Frank James Osborne and Pearl Barbour Osborne.

She is preceded in death by her husband Grady Benjamin Owen, of 54 years until his death November 2000. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her sisters, Bertha Osborne, Claire Osborne, three daughters, Janice Gayle Owen (Infant), Phyllis Owen Hutcherson and Wilma Lee Owen Stephens, daughter-in-law Rebekah Reynolds Owen, one grandson and one great grandson.

Mrs. Trudy is survived by her sons; James Benjamin Owen of Callands, and Virgil Leon Owen (Jennifer) of Nathalie, Virginia. One daughter, Betty Owen Mims, and a special son-in-law, Wesley Mims of Franklin, Ohio. Four grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a special sister-in-law, Christine Owen.

Mrs. Trudy was a life-long member of Concord United Methodist Church in Chatham, Virginia. She loved her church family, Mrs. Trudy also loved meeting her little group of friends at Hardees in the mornings. She loved everyone, she never met a stranger, she loved her Lord and Savior, her family and her special fur baby, Precious.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday September 28th, 2025, between 6pm-8pm at Norris Funeral Home, Chatham Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 29th, 2025, at 2pm at Concord Methodist Church, 2880 Concord Rd. Chatham, Virginia with Pastor Tobias Lutz and Pastor Alan Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.

At other times, the family will be meeting at the son, James Owen's home in Chatham at 1420 Calvary Rd., Chatham, Virginia 24531.
