Giles Dockery

Giles Dockery, 91, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. Giles was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on May 27, 1934 to the late Annie Elizabeth Burchett Dockery and the late James Oliver Dockery. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Betty Lowery Dockery.

Giles was a Godly man and of the Christian Faith. Giles proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years as a correctional officer at City of Danille Adult Detention Center.

In addition to his wife, Giles is survived by two sons; Larry Dockery and wife Robin of Fayetteville, NC and Tim Dockery and wife Gina of Danville, VA; a daughter; Terri Trimble of Danville, VA; a brother; Donald Dockery of Dickenson, TX; seven grandchildren; Johnathan, Jordan, Brandon, Megan, Brad, Steven, and Katelyn; 9 great grandchildren, and two special neighbors, Chase and Cole.

In addition to his parents, Giles was predeceased by a sister; Sarah Fulton and five brothers; Luke, George, James, Augustus, and John Dockery.
