Glen C. Gillispie

Glen C. Gillispie, 91, of Bassett, Va., passed away peacefully at his residence on October 18, 2023. He was born September 26,1932, in Franklin County, Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Glenwood Gillispie, and his beloved granddaughter, Khrystal Dawn Craig.

Glen was a Christian man of God, who took his faith seriously. He also loved cars, working on them, driving them, or just admiring them. Above all, Glen was a devout family man. He loved his family with all his heart, and his great-grandchildren were always sure to bring a smile to his face.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hall Gillispie; his two daughters, Mary Lee Young and Beverly Annette Craig; and his three sons, Ken Guilliams, Kermit Gillispie (Demetria), and Ronnie Guilliams. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Glen was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at a later date.
