Glenford Eugene Sigmon
Glenford Eugene Sigmon, 88, of Stuart passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026 at Stuart Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 29,1937 to the late Harvey Sigmon and the late Cassie Cahill Sigmon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of over 53 years Mildred Shelton Sigmon and an infant son.
After finishing high school, Glenford proudly served his country in the Army, stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon honorable discharge, he worked at Dupont for over 30 years. He was of the Primitive Baptist Faith and attended several Primitive Baptist Churches. He spent his time enjoying family, friends and neighbors but his favorite past time was attending local antique car shows. He loved old cars and the camaraderie that came along with them.
He is survived by a sister Gaye Sigmon of Salem, brother Coy Sigmon and sister in law Marie Sigmon of Collinsville, niece Emily Sigmon Baker (Curtis, Cole, Grace and Bo) of Charlotte, NC, nephews Jerome Sigmon of Elkin, NC and Wayne Sigmon (Benjamin) of Blufton, SC. In his last few years, he also had the companionship of his dear friend Anita Clark of Stuart.
The family would like to extend special thanks to John Halsey, the staff of Blue Ridge Rehab and the staff of Stuart Community Hospital for their care and compassion in Glenford’s final weeks.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday February 12, 2026 at 11am at Bassett Funeral Home with services to immediately follow at 12pm. Burial to follow at Union Church Cemetary, weather permitting
