Glenn Carpenter
Glenn Eugene “Gene” Carpenter, age 75, of 1710 Main Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Monday, March 3, 2025 at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem.
Gene was born on October 21, 1949 in Hot Springs, Virginia to the late Edith Lowry Carpenter Jenkins and Ledford Loving Carpenter, Sr. In addition to being a school bus driver for Bath County Public Schools for many years, he was a jack of all trades and used his talents reconditioning cars, painting, groundskeeping, and maintaining property for local businesses. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing and spending time with his dogs, Cletus and Pug.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Brown Carpenter of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Ledford Carpenter, Jr. and wife, Nancy Fisher, of Earlysville and Steve Carpenter of Millboro; a special nephew and niece, Chad Carpenter and his family, and Kelly Whiddon and family, of Millboro.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
