Glenn Lewis Higgins, Sr., age 73, of 1903 Oakwood Drive, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at his residence.
Glenn was born on January 17, 1952 in Clifton Forge to the late Glenn William Higgins and Jane Spangler Higgins. He served in the United States Army and was the owner/operator of Glenn’s Body Shop and Wrecker Service for over 30 years. Glenn attended Lone Star Advent Christian Church and was a member of the Curtis A. Smith post #1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved working on cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR, and was passionate about his family pets, especially Angel, his dog.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Franson Higgins of Clifton Forge; a son, Glen Higgins, Jr. (Patricia) of Eagle Rock; a sister, Melanie Higgins, and three brothers, Ricki Higgins (Becky), Pat Higgins, and Mack Higgins (Liz), all of Clifton Forge; four sisters-in-law, Christy Waid (Bernie), Karen Lodge, Donna Griffith (Jim) and Tammy Slay (Randy), and a brother-in-law, John Franson (Tracy); two aunts, Wilma Spangler and Kakie Higgins, both of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews; a special cousin and friend, Earl Higgins, Jr.; and his dearly beloved dog, Angel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 a 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Mack Higgins, Glen Higgins, Jr., Bryan Simpson, Jason Higgins, Tim Miller, and Steve Butrym. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Higgins, Ricki Higgins, and Earl Higgins, Jr. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Rd, Covington, VA 24426.
