Goldie Marie Stone

Goldie Marie Stone, 84, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, Virginia. She was born on July 21, 1941, to the late Woodrow Wilson Agnew and Virginia McAlexander Agnew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Stone, and two brothers, Palmer Agnew and Bernard Agnew.

Goldie was a woman of great faith. Earlier in life, she was a member of Fairway Baptist Church and most recently attended Northside Baptist Church. She retired from Bassett-Walker after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

Goldie enjoyed crafts, sewing, and a good Diet Mountain Dew or sweet tea, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronnie J. Stone (Carol), and her daughter, Kimberly Watkins (Jack); grandchildren, Angie Wood (Mike), Wes Stone (Mandy), Amber Krontz (Justin), and Elizabeth Earles (Luke); seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Ruth Allen, Edna Wishnevsky, Clara Cockrum, Evelyn McIntosh, and Connie Cuevas; two brothers, Leroy Agnew and James Agnew; along with numerous other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor J.D. Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
