Grace Merriman Taylor

Grace Merriman Taylor, 94, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Snyder Nursing Home, Inc. She was born on January 22, 1931, in Spencer VA to the late Rue Richard Merriman and Ethel Mills Merriman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Brice Taylor; sisters, Mary Pickurel, Hazel Merriman, Lucille Merriman and Elsie Chitwood; brothers, Robert and Thomas Merriman.

She was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Deborah West (Richard), Pam Ward (Ed), and Kathy Taylor; brother, Moyer Merriman (Peggy); grandchildren, James “Jim” Lovell (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Taylor and Maci Lovell; and step-great-grandson, Robert Tatum. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Timothy Christian officiating. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Snyder Nursing Home, Inc. in Salem, VA for their wonderful care given to Grace.
