Grady Allen Meeks
Grady Allen Meeks, 75, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025. He was born February 12, 1950, in Union Hall, Virginia, to the late Adolphus Everett Meeks and Virginia Trelva Forbes Meeks.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Juanita Furrow, Shirley Belcher, Barbara Collins, Elva Meeks; brothers, Everett Meeks, Cecil Meeks, Ray Meeks, Russell Meeks, Sawmill Meeks, and Jerry Dillon.
Grady proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves and was a combat soldier during the Vietnam War. He was a loyal member of the Knights of Pythias and past chancellor of Patrick Henry Lodge #82. He was also the grand outer guard of the Grand Lodge of Virginia. He had an incredible work ethic, working 40 years for Pine Products in the maintenance department. In his free time, Grady was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Mayo River Hunting Club. But of all his accomplishments, everything paled in comparison to the love he had for his family. He loved them all with everything he had and was a great father and grandpa. Grady was the heart of his family—gentle, strong, and full of love. The family will forever cherish the laughter he shared, the wisdom he gave, and the warmth of his presence that made every moment feel like home.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and love of his life for 52 years, Bonnie Sue Wright Meeks; grandchildren Cassadie Meeks Peters (Justin), Cameron Meeks, Andrea Meeks; and great-grandchildren, Aspen Peters and Journey Peters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:15 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Military Honors will be presented by The Martinsville & Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation will be 15 minutes prior to the service.
