Gregory Dean Matthews

Mr. Gregory Dean Matthews, age 54 of Mount Airy passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home. Mr. Matthews was born in Warwick County, Virginia to the late William Leon Matthews and Margaret Beasley Matthews. Gregory was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle; and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Surviving is his mother and stepfather, Margaret Beasley Matthews and husband Bobby, a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa Matthews Olsen and husband Ron; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip Matthews and wife Elaina; three nieces, Lauren Matthews, Skye Olsen, Meadow Olsen; and two nephews, William Matthews and wife Aerial, Nicholas Olsen; and a great-niece, Kora Matthews. Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his father, William Leon Matthews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church in Mount Airy with Rev. Jack Danley and Rev. Bud Cameron officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Salem United Methodist Church in Mount Airy from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
