Gregory Keith Clingenpeel

Gregory (Greg) Clingenpeel, 64, of Salem, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Greg loved and enjoyed many things including playing and listening to music, Virginia Tech and Salem football, the outdoors and especially camping and hiking, riding his rockhopper, sitting on the porch, laughing, and drinking beer. Most of all, though, he loved all his friends and especially his grandbabies.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Kenneth Clingenpeel and Grace Marie Eames; and his son, Bobby Clingenpeel.

His surviving family includes his children, Julia (Russell) and Joseph (Ali); honorary Clingenpeel children, Billy Jr. and Trish; brother, Todd (Kim); grandchildren, Ayden, Bailey, Camilla, Ashton, Emmie, and Oakley; niece, Laura; his best friend, Deborah Brooks (Billy); and other countless family members and friends.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 1202 Roanoke Boulevard in Salem, Va.
