Gregory Lynn May, 59, of Appomattox, died Monday, December 11, 2023.

Born in Lynchburg, August 11, 1964, he was a son of Linda Louise Paulette of Appomattox and the late Marshall W. Cheatham, and the late Ralph Ray May, Jr. He was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church.  Greg loved being outdoors, floating the river at Balcony Falls, star gazing and listening to his music.  

He is survived by two children, Corey May and Cara of Big Island and Brittney Holaday and Mark of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Marsha C. Ballowe of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Duke and Penelope; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church, 110 Rough Creek Road, Phenix, VA 23959, with Rev. Dr. William Crystal officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
