Greyson Dewayne Young
Mr. Greyson Dewayne Young, 34, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 1, 2025, at Northern Regional Hospital. Mr. Young was born April 23, 1990, in Forsyth County, to Michael Ray Young, Sr. and Cindy Henning Young. Greyson was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life – whether it was casting a line into a quiet river, revving the engine of his motorcycle, or strumming his favorite guitar. His passion for fishing, motorcycles, and music was only matched by his love for his family. He had a knack for making those around him smile, often with a quick wit or a well-timed joke, but most of all with his kind heart and generous spirit. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Helen Ruby LeRie Young; two sisters and a brother-in-law, LeAnnah M. and Joseph A. Holder and Kelly S. Young; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Ray Young, Jr. and Nicole C. Young, Jessey L. and Destanie R. Young, and Brad E. and Brittany Young; several nieces and nephews, Teagan, Bailey, Avery, Clark, Ruby, Raina, Wesley, Josie, and Aiden; his maternal grandmother, Betty Henning; his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Mary Young; and his grandmother, affectionately known as “Nana,” Brenda L. Thermos. Greyson was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Henning; his maternal great-grandmother, Helen Fulk; his paternal great-grandmother, Kelly S. Easter; and his paternal great-grandparents, Jeff and Lois Young. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Chamblin, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Fly high with the angels, Grey-Grey! Gone but never forgotten!
