Gwendolyn Denise Manns

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. On August 1, 2024, God in his infinite wisdom, saw fit to call Gwendolyn Denise Manns home. Gwendolyn was born on December 20, 1957 to the late James and Loleader Manns.

Gwendolyn was a 1977 graduate of Bassett High School. She was employed at Stanley Furniture until closing. She was a bus aide for Henry County Public Schools for 7 years until her health declined. Gwendolyn was a faithful member of Refuge Temple.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Caveka S. Manns; two sisters, Debra Manns and Regenia Stanley; two brothers, Thelbert Manns and Grant Wade.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Tamarria D. Manns-McKinnon (Kavon) of Raleigh, NC; one granddaughter, Nahla McKinnon; one grandson, Tyree McKinnon; two sisters, Cecelia Manns of Bassett, VA and Veronica Wimbush (Warren) of Stuart, VA; three brothers, George Manns of Bassett, James Manns of Collinsville, VA, and Jerry Ross. A host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends will cherish her forever in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 12 noon at Refuge Temple Ministries The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. The burial will take place at the Manns Family Cemetery.
