Harold E. Franklin

Mr. Harold Eugene Franklin, age 86 of the Sanville Community, Bassett, VA. passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the Woltz Hospice Home, Dodson, N.C. after a decline in health.Harold was born on March 12, 1938 to Leonard L. Franklin and Lelia Hollandsworth Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Marshall Franklin. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills where he was employed for 41 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion, Ruritan, an avid golfer and a member of Blackberry Baptist Church.Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes Carter Franklin, one brother, Leon Franklin and wife Kathy and a number of nieces and nephews.A visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Tony Beach and Reverend Daniel Reed officiating.
