Harold Newby

Harold Winston Newby age 85 of Moneta passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 4, 1938, a son of the late George Harold and Annie Belle Moses Newby. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willard Newby; and stepbrother, Danny Aye.
Harold was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, and he was a hardworking man that loved his family. One of the many joys of his life was skeet shooting. He was a member of Franklin County Gun Club, and he was the AA State Champion Skeet Shooter many years ago. He also won numerous other awards throughout the years. He was a kind and gentle man that will be missed by his family and those that knew him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Violet Newby; his daughters, Anita Newby Mayle (Lonnie) and Patricia Newby Angle; one granddaughter, Cassie Hynes; three grandsons, Johnathan Lindsey, Zachary Bowman and Joshua Lindsey (Crystal); great-grandchildren, Kayla, Emilee, Kayleigh, Wessley and Landyn. He is also survived by other family members and many friends.
At his request, there will not be any services.
